Richardson Engineering (Pvt) Ltd (RENPL) has been a segment of the company since its origin in 1962. Its branches span over a diversified business range covering manufacturing, power transmission and distribution, retail sales, outdoor advertising, as well as renewable energy.

For over 50 years, RENPL has been lighting up the nation and enhancing the lives of the general public.RENPL was relaunched in year 2011 simultaneously with the “Uthuru Wasanthaya” programme: the strategic post war program initiated by the Sri Lankan government to develop the Northern Province of Sri Lanka.

One of the key objectives of this initiative was 100% electrification of the Northern Province. RENPL opened its pre-stressed concrete factory in Puttalam to manufacture concrete poles required for the project. Since then, it has supplied the majority of the pre-stressed concrete poles require by the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) enabling them to expand their electricity distribution network. In 2016, RENPL established a semi-automated railway sleeper manufacturing plant with a capacity to produce 130 sleepers per day. Today, RENPL has the highest capacity for manufacturing sleepers in the island with provisions for expansion. Our railway sleepers are manufactured to the most stringent standards, ensuring a high-quality end product that conforms to both local and international standards.

In today’s context, RENPL is one of the major suppliers of pre-stressed concrete products in Sri Lanka and the success factor is the continues improvement of processes and quality. We use the best raw materials sourced from well recognized manufactures in the world and product quality is never compromised.
